As a celebrity chef in Tel Aviv, Eyal Shani had the smart idea to bring his beloved pita sandwich shop to Paris in 2013. With Israeli hip-hop playing in the background, in a space with four rough stone walls and industrial lighting, we rush over to the bar to place our order, giving our first name, which will be called out when it’s ready. And then, eaten there or taken to go, it’s heaven on earth! Fish, meat, vegetarian, try them all in small portions (€4 to €5.50). Amongst the house stars: boeuf bourguignon (€11.50) and ratatouille (€8); lamb kebab with fresh mint and cilantro (€11.30); soft hake in a light breading, with cilantro and raw tomatoes (€11.50)! And don’t forget about the delicious sides: roasted sweet potato (€5.50) or an insane braised cauliflower (€6.50) seasoned with olive oil, fleur de sel and pepper, a mind-blowing dish! For dessert: chocolate-banana or apple tatin pitas for €3.50. Goldstar beer €4.50. // T.M.
