In the coolest part of the SoPi neighborhood, this pretty bar (teal cushions, Nordic barstools, string light bulbs, brass-framed circular mirrors) offers up a cocktail list that’s as scholarly as it is sharp. Alone behind the gigantic U-shaped bar, the self-taught bartender Frédéric Le Bordays (who learned everything he knows from books) has mastered the art of the shaker: a very citrusy Last Dance (tequila, lime, grapefruit, rosemary syrup, gentian liqueur, Peychaud’s bitters, €12), a vivifying Basil Therapy (pisco, fresh basil, lemon, quiquina), etc. And to go with it all, Artisan also has a few late-night plates (the kitchen closes at 11pm) that don’t mess around: tuna tataki and apple guacamole (€13); Galicia octopus and corn purée (€15); Bellota chorizo (€11), etc. Count on spending around €7 for an alcohol-free mix. // A.B.
