Tucked away in a very bling-bling corner of Buddha-Bar, Secret 8 is a well-hidden speakeasy! To access it, you first need to find the password on Facebook or Instagram and, once night falls, speak the magic word through the peephole on the door. It’ll open onto a boudoir with grey-taupe and midnight-blue tones, with a collection of kitsch glassware exposed behind the bar: a jewel box, a golf ball, a robot head… There are eleven carefully dressed cocktails on the menu, made by mixologist Régis Celabe (ex-Jules & Jim), including a refreshing Open Your Heart (vodka infused with peppermint, mastiha liqueur, curaçao, tonic, €18) and a Falling Spy in homage to James Bond’s Vesper Martini – gin, vodka, Lillet blanc infused with Timet pepper and bitters. For those abstaining from alcohol? A powerful Renaissance Jurassique that combines kombucha, a lapacho peel infusion, verjus and agave (€12). // A.B.
