At first glance, this appears to be your run-of-the-mill wine shop along the highway… But when you take a closer look, it’s actually hiding one of the most fervent ambassadors of natural wine in Corsica! Suffice it to say, Christophe Talon, who’s been running shop for the last fifteen years, has plenty to fill up your coffers with the island’s best offerings. Starting with the legendary vintages from the Domaine Arena (which is co-run by Jean-Baptiste and Antoine-Marie): BG, Grotte di Sole, Morta Maio… But also some lesser known options, like the wines from Le Clos Marinu, a young estate in Porticcio, including a white Corail (€18) and a red Resilianza (€22). And in addition to all that, there are bottles from the mainland, most notably from the Loire (Breton, Mosse) and the Rhone (Pfifferling, Barral, Dumas). Take them to go along with a respectable selection of island-made cheese and charcuterie: farm-fresh goat cheese from Mathieu Acquaviva, pork terrine from L’Usu Corsu, coppa from Jean Zani… // D.S.
The bullet-proof bottle: Carco, a red from Antoine-Marie Arena (€63 for a magnum or €26 for a bottle).
