THE STORY: Let’s start with the suite (€140 on the first night, then €130), a rustic and unique studio with a bathtub, a view of the Saint-Germain de Préaux church, and a lounge giving out onto the English garden. At the other end of their house—an old 17th century presbytery—Ysabel and Jean-Pierre Mavit, both artists, grant you the right to enjoy yourselves as you see fit. Apart from all that, the antique furniture has a charming acquired patina, and the flora is endlessly romantic, with a myriad of fluttering butterflies.
