THE STORY: We’re in Beaune and, as is often the case in Burgundy, wine is omnipresent… On the ground floor of Les Jardins de Loïs for example, where the 1er cru house Beaune rests delicately in an oak barrel. And above the wine cellar, winemakers Anne-Marie and Philippe Dufouleur have set up five cozy and spacious rooms bearing the names of the estate’s different vintages. And to unwind? Three options: a pause in the hammam, a siesta under the garden’s fruit trees or a visit to the neighboring Hospices. Rooms from €160 to €195, gite for four facing the Hospices starting at €350 a night.
TOILETRIES: L’Occitane soap and toiletries kit.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: Included, with hot drinks, freshly-squeezed orange juice, cereals, honey, yogurt, homemade jam, regional cheeses (Comté, Morbier), ham, fresh seasonal fruits, eggs, viennoiseries, fresh bread.
MINI-BAR: No, but a shared fridge and a wine cellar with all the estate’s wines available in the form of an honesty bar.
LITTLE LUXURY: Every night, guests are allowed a free tasting of wines from the Loïs Dufouleur estate in the mini-cellar dedicated to him.
