NUMBER OF ROOMS: 5 rooms
CLOSED ANNUALLY: February 2019
THE STORY: Five years ago, the aesthete Guillaume Toutain, the former creative director of a Parisian agency, fell in love with the village of Lourmarin in the Lubéron. An architect by training, he transformed a 17th-century mas-style farmhouse into an extremely sleek bed & breakfast. Whitewashed walls and white resin floors, immaculate sheets, graphic rugs, designer furniture… all five bedrooms meet the standards of modern good taste. In the common spaces on the ground floor, you can expect more of the same: a rosewood table surrounded by vintage Eames and Jacobsen chains in the dining room, stainless steel and waxed concrete in the kitchen, 1950s wool armchairs and sofa in the living room, lots of ceramics and contemporary art, etc. As a bonus, there’s a garden filled with tamarisk, cypresses and lime trees, with a 12-meter long pool and views of the surrounding countryside. Double rooms starting at €150 a night.
