THE STORY: As a young thirty-something graduate in the 1980s, Marie bought herself this big property in the Berry on a whim. She has spent 30 years patiently renovating it, building after building, before leaving her job in management consulting and Parisian life in 2012, and opening four gîtes and three B&B rooms. Classy with its old furniture, family souvenirs and big bucolic bouquets of flowers, the Grand’Maison also has a pool…. The perfect spot for a green getaway or for a vintage wedding. Double rooms starting at €135 (a night), gîtes starting at €375 (weekends) and €665 (for the week).
