Un matin dans les bois
NUMBER OF ROOMS: 3 rooms, 1 cottage
CLOSED ANNUALLY: Open all year round
THE STORY: Overwhelmed by urban life in downtown Lille, Marine and Laurent set out for this former Knights Templar sanctuary hidden out in the forest behind Le Touquet. After two years of renovations, the various buildings on the estate (a barn, stables and a dovecote) have been transformed into very hospitable bed & breakfast rooms (headboards made from wooden logs, a collection of birdhouses, vintage globes de mariée, top-of-the-line bedding, books available), while a Canadian-style wooden cabin was added to the property, with a well-equipped communal kitchen. But for anyone who doesn’t want to cook while on vacation, fear not, Alexandre Gauthier’s La Grenouillère and L’Anecdote (Le Guide Fooding’s Man of Honor of 2016) are right nearby! Starting at €148 a night for two guests.
TOILETRIES: Organic shampoo, soap and shower gel with essential oils.
INTERNET: Free (wifi).
BREAKFAST: Included, with coffee, Lov Organic teas, baguette, homemade apple turnovers or brioche, fruit salad or compote or baked apples, homemade yogurt, homemade jams, cheeses and apple/orange juice.
MINI-BAR: No, but there is a Nespresso machine and Lov Organic tea available in the rooms.
BREAKFAST: 5 hectares of forest, orchards and meadows to explore, where squirrels, deer, geese, duck and a dozen other species of birds play, a true ornithological paradise.
