THE STORY: Located 15 minutes from Arles, this hotel is built around a small square bordered with plane trees, just like you’d find in an Alpilles village. And it’s the ideal getaway spot for city-dwellers who need a breath of fresh air. In the rooms, there’s a classic and Provençal feel (tomette tile floors, wooden rafters, whitewashed walls) brought to life by vintage pieces from the 50s to 90s (wicker chairs, Scandinavian desks, enfilade dressers, 70s light fixtures) and photos (for sale) taken by students at the Ecole Nationale de la Photographie d’Arles. Double rooms starting at €210 a night.
TOILETRIES: Une Olive en Provence shower gel and shampoo, Végétalement Provence hydrating balm and beard care.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: €29 with coffee or tea, bread, jam, pain au chocolats, croissants, muffins, pancakes, ham, eggs, bacon, yogurt, freshly squeezed fruit juices…
MINI-BAR: Yes, stocked with a half bottle of Champagne, fruit juices and sodas, sparkling or flat water, chocolate eggs, candies and apéritif mixes. There’s a coffee machine and an electric teapot with a selection of teas available in each room as well.
LITTLE LUXURY: There’s a big selection of outdoor activities: movie screenings on Tuesday evenings, yoga classes on Sunday mornings, hikes on Saturday afternoons…
