THE STORY: “Fashion is what goes out of style,” said Jean Cocteau—and he was right. The Hôtel Mont-Blanc, where he designed the décor at the bar, was very much “à la mode.” Mendès France took his milk there, Bardot cooed there, Moreau filmed there, Jean Marais even left a few sculptures behind…It’s no surprise then that the precious perfume of these sumptuous years still haunts the place. Nothing feels dated, everything is refined: luxurious woodwork in the rooms and suites (from €292 to €1352), muffled salons, drawings by Cocteau, theatrical curtains…Because elegance, you see, is what doesn’t go out of style.
