NUMBER OF ROOMS: 40 rooms
CLOSED ANNUALLY: Open all year round
THE STORY: After opening the hôtel Paradis in 2012, in a part of Faubourg Saint Denis that’s undergoing a full-blown transformation, Adrien Gloaguen has invested in Montmartre this time around. Located right near the main boulevards, this new faubourgeoise creation is a modern auberge where you will eat well, drink well and sleep well…. Decorated (again!) by Dorothée Meilichzon (Beef Club, hôtel Bachaumont, Café Pinson…), the Hôtel Panache mixes various styles (black ceramic switches, replicas of old Ericsonn telephones, luminous globes, Guariche-inspired chairs, geometric patterns…) with a dominant Art Nouveau feel in the bedrooms: cane headboards and typical brass fixtures; green, blue and grey tones that feel very early 1900s. Double rooms starting at €130 a night.
TOILETRIES: Bonne Nouvelle shower gel, shampoo and body lotion, a new line of toiletries created by Adrien Gloaguen.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: €18, with tea, coffee, fruit juice, bread, viennoiseries and one gluten-free option from No Glu everyday.
MINI-BAR: Yes, with sodas, natural French do it Water mineral water and A la Mère de famille chocolates.
LITTLE LUXURY: Dinner at the hotel restaurant, run (again!) by David Lanher (Le Bon Saint-Pourçain, Caffè Stern, Racines…), that offers up a small menu of chic shared plates.
