BBQ lovers welcome: as its name so clearly suggests on the vermilion facade, Carni is a meat-centric bistro! Run by Nicolas Barbier and Sébastien Daver, the duo behind the nearby L’Épuisette, it’s chef David Teixeira (ex-Pierre Sang) grilling up these beautiful and carefully-sourced cuts of meat. The other day at lunch, the menu featured: delightful free-range chicken nuggets with an incredible satay sauce for dipping; a round of Normand beef with a nice smoky flavor, served with Noirmoutier fingerling potatoes and a rich jus de viande — or for those who don’t have a taste for blood, there’s a lentil purée, roasted red kuri squash and a passion fruit vinaigrette; before a good homemade tiramisu for dessert. At night, temperatures rise a bit: prime rib, veal sweetbreads, Sisteron lamb shoulder… // Gwen Jacquère
