Au Petit Bar
Fashions change…. Colette may have lasted 20 years, however, chef Marie Dalle’s Petit Bar is turning 51. There’s been the same good spirit here since 1966, the same peanut machine (50 cents for a handful) and the same retro grub. Take a seat at one of the Formica tables, while her sons, Hubert and Michel, bring out the house must-haves that are still there to ease working-class hunger pains: herring with potato salad (€4.50), roasted pork with jus and homemade mashed potatoes (€11.50); good strawberry tart (€4.80), etc. To drink, there’s a mystery red (€4 for a glass of Côtes-du-Rhône)! Sandwiches €3 to €4.80. // C.L.H.
