After a few stints in Paris (Le Square Gardette, Frenchie), Sibylle Sellam and Grégoire Foucher set down their pots and pans at this small restaurant on a cobblestoned street in 2017. Here in Bercail, seated between spearmint walls and under whitewashed rafters, indulge in their energetic and ultra-locavore cuisine. The day we went for lunch the €24 menu featured: tasty marinated jack mackerel intensified by pickled cilantro seeds and radish; tasty homemade Froment de Léon beef sausage served with pointy cabbage and bathed in a vibrant seaweed broth with pieces of dried kombu; before a lemon floating island with a hazelnut crème anglaise for the gourmet finale. // A.Be.
FEELING THIRSTY? Behind the windowed wine collection, smart bottles taunt us: a Saumur white from Bobinet (€7 a glass), a sunny Périgord Merlot from the Château Lestignac (€29 a bottle) or La Bohème, a Loire white from Marc Pesnot (€30).
PRICE: Menus €16-24 (lunch) and €43-56 (dinner).
