It was a good job that Mamie Paulette passed down her passion for good food to her grandson, Arnaud Fallet. And in turn, he pays tribute to her at this atmospheric bistro (exposed stone walls, antique furniture, a terrace-veranda), where you might enjoy something like a tasty tuna tataki with sesame seeds, tender beef tagliata seasoned with lemon oil and a potato crumble, plump gnocchi with purple artichokes in a jus de barigoule, and, for dessert, banoffee or almond milk and mango tapioca. FEELING THIRSTY? There’s a sharp selection of organic wines (including Petit Jo from La Roche Buissière in the Vaucluse, available in red or white, €25 a bottle) and delicious cocktails (€8-12), like the Gin Lavender (lavender-infused gin, St-Germain, peach juice and sugar cane) or the Kiss & Roses (vodka, strawberry juice, rose syrup and lime).

PRICE: Breakfast €2.50 to €16, mains €15-24 (lunch), platters €6-18, tapas €6-14 (dinner).
