In their elongated coffee shop (a paneled bar, hanging light bulbs), Mat and Collin unearth the best beans from Brazil, Ethiopia and New Guinea, roasted in-house in the back courtyard. Meanwhile, Dajo, the barista who watches over the beans, is no other than the 2019 world coffee tasting vice-champion. But enough about java, because the team also cooks up vegetarian brunches, healthy lunches and tasty cakes. The Saturday we went: mustardy hummus, grilled peppers and spinach tartines; bulgur wheat with chickpeas, onions, grapes, almonds and harissa; and to finish, granola with fromage blanc and seasonal fruit, along with some comforting caramelized peanut brownies and cinnamon rolls. // L.P.
