In their neat little spot (a tiled bar, blonde wooden tables, a big blackboard wall), Bénie Zervudacki and Aurélia Sammut cast us out across the Mediterranean Sea with plates from “here and there” – d’aqui d’aia in the Provencal patois. The other evening: soft homemade pita served with a delicious backcountry olive oil; their famous smoked burratina with local, multicolored tomatoes; cute oat-feta balls with a white dipping sauce; a comforting ratatouille and Parmesan crumble; before muhallebi with a hint of rose and orange blossom, to end the meal on a sweet note. Other options include tomato tonnato, yellow zucchini gazpacho with feta, local sea bream tartare with cucumber and passion fruit… All served on radiant Moroccan tableware. // E.DiB.
