After an initial career as interior designers, Mathilde and Wilfried left everything behind to open up Dano, a delicatessen/fine foods shop in the Beaurivage neighborhood, featuring three small vintage tables made for enjoying a hearty meal. The day we went for lunch, the €12 dish of the day was quite memorable: porc blanc filet mignon from Melle (Deux-Sèvres), marinated for 24 hours in red wine, seared and then oven roasted, moistened with an excellent jus and served with carrots, Ibaïama lardons, celery, pickled red onions, and mashed potatoes. A real treat which was followed by a divine lemon and organic fromage blanc cheesecake (€5.50). To drink: an organic Aude wine from the Domaine des 4 Pierres (€4.50 a glass), a demi-sec Eztigar cider (€3), sagarno apple juice (€3.50) or Bob’s Beer (€4 for 330 ml). Otherwise, there are tarts (broccoli-cauliflower-goat cheese-ham, €3.50 a slice), sandwiches (€3.50 to €5.50), homemade andouillette, Toulouse sausages, roasted chicken from Aldabia in Saint-Martin-d’Arrossa (Sunday) and their famous orange lava cake sold to go. // P.L.
