Inside the open kitchen you’ll find a brilliant chef that dazzles like gold! This bling-bling spot that gives out onto the sidewalk has full-on nom-nom, plus a bouncer at the entrance, grey spotted marble and mirrors galore. The talented Pierre Touitou (Vivant 2) sends out his luxurious, finger-licking good snacks to a rowdy crowd. The night we went, the international hipster crowd was rushing in to admire themselves in the mirrors while snacking on the treats of the moment: fresh panzanella (and Italian bread and tomato salad) classed up with 24-carat gambero rosso shrimp; Faustian fried mussels sprinkled with bottarga as an outrenoir homage to Soulages; wonderful pork belly adorned with glazed fennel; a flashy salad of premium pistachios and capers; before a cannolo filled with black sesame cream and orange blossom for a fusion dessert… // A.A.
FEELING THIRSTY? Deviant wines, of course! There’s a lovely German punk rock white called Little Bastard from Jan Mattias Klein (€7.50 a glass), an ultra-punk red blend from Brendan Tracey in the Loire (€36 a bottle), an orange from La Sorga in the Hérault (€10 a glass or €60 a bottle).
