Say goodbye to the kebabs on Boulevard Barbès! Surely hit by a flash of inspiration during a Berlin after-party, Noé Lazare had the brilliant idea of bringing traditional Berliner Kebap to France. Even better, at his shop on Rue Gamey (exposed stone walls, light wood tables), the Parisian puts his Gemüse spin on things, with fresh and grilled vegetables that give a healthy boost to the homemade marinated chicken that’s gently spit-roasted. But before digging in, you’ve got to follow certain steps: choose your bread (a soft Turkish pide or a durum flatbread), then your add-ons (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese), before choosing your sauce (white, Algerian, samurai, harissa, etc). It’s worth mentioning that there’s a 100% vegetarian kebab, along with a “special” of the month – with fancy new breads, vegetables and sauces.
FEELING THIRSTY? Club-Mate, Fritz-Kola (€4 for 330 ml) or craft Berlin BRLO beer (€6 for 330 ml), unless you’d rather opt for a traditional Turkish ayran – a salty fermented yogurt drink (€2).
PRICE: Kebab €7, fries €2. Menu €10 (kebab + fries + drink).
