La Bicyclette

Restaurant La Bicyclette in ParisLa Bicyclette (Paris)

In an alleyway near the Halle Secrétan, Bertrand Disset – the former owner the Bataclan brasserie – has taken over an old-fashioned dive alongside Serbian chef Slavica Marmakovic (ex-Sunset and Clamato). They’re riding this freshly inflated Bicyclette in tandem, supplying top notch goods served on grandma’s porcelain. The other day at lunch: a cheeky octopus salad with red monochromatic tones from ‘nduja, beets and radicchio; incredible tagliatelle pimped out with chard and cilantro pesto; before an orange blossom panna cotta for the more classic finale. It’s worth nothing that on Thursday and Friday nights, it’s wine glasses a gogo come apéro time, along with Aveyron charcuterie and Auvergne cheeses. // Julie Gerbet

FEELING THIRSTY? There are plenty of fine options to choose from, to drink there or take to go: Essencial blanc from the Domaine des Schistes (€4.50 a glass), a floral Solstice blanc from Philippe Viret (€25 a bottle), a gourmet Tu M’Intéresses from Frédéric Palacios (€25)… Or even a craft beer from La Débauche (€4 for a half-pint).

PRICE: Set menus €16-19 (lunch), platters €6-15 (dinner).
