Cassis, 1 hour in the station! After working as the head chef at La Stazione in the center of town, François Oromato now heads up La Loca, located right near the train station. It’s the ideal spot (white brick walls, mosaic tile floors, bistro furniture) for a bite to eat, when you’re craving Italian specialties: a lovely octopus salad in a heady vinaigrette; a delightful raw artichoke carpaccio tickled by lemon; mouthwatering linguine with clams; fat mafalde (wavy pasta) tossed in an incredible shrimp and rabbit jus; pizza cooked in a wood-fired oven just like in Napoli, topped with buffalo mozzarella, arugula and cherry tomatoes; before a perfect rum flan. // A.A.
