La Tambouillette

Inside this peaceful old-fashioned spot, Aline does just about everything herself: she cooks, chats with customers and takes the orders. The other day at lunch, amongst the kitsch details and postcards pinned to the walls, the blackboard menu had a simple and funky €14 option: as an appetizer, a smart apple and beetroot salad made fresh that morning; a hearty rougail sausage stew for the main; and to finish, a refreshing cardamom flan. To go with it all, there’s a Côtes-du-Marmandais from the Cocumont wine shop: Quezaco in three colors (€2.50 a glass), a red Tap d’e Perbos (€18 a bottle). Set menus from €10 to €14. // A.Be.
