In their charming little house (ochre walls, almond green shutters), Davide and Rachele Monopoli (she’s a former professional pianist and he’s a former philosophy professor) discreetly craft their beautiful transalpine dishes for a maximum of six guests at a time! Those same guests can be found savoring their meals seated across from the fireplace or on the adorable terrace with colorful furniture. For us, the other day at lunch: a bright fennel, orange and olive salad; impeccable Sicilian-style shredded chicken with balsamic-roasted heirloom tomatoes, capers, olives and fresh mint – or delicious cacio e pepe made with Italian Parmesan, pecorino from the Luberon and black pepper (a rather stingy portion, however, and a sizeable price tag… €25!); before a tasty Madagascar vanilla panna cotta for dessert. // G.LeP.
FEELING THIRSTY? Five natural wines to choose between (but nothing served by the glass): a Ventoux rosé from the Ferme Saint-Pierre (€29), a Sicilian Nero-d’Avola from La Masseria del Violino (€40), a Luberon white from the Domaine de MasLauris (€40)…
PRICE: À la carte €47-52.
