Les Bols de Jean
When he’s not on TV with Norbert Tarayre, Jean Imbert teams up with Eric Kayser, the Kaiser of bakeries, who in turn concocted a type of brioche bread bowl for Jean, which almost resembles a pumpkin with its little hat, filled five different ways: all vegetal (crisp tomatoes, shallots, ricotta and herbs); a Breton version with peas, green beans, snow peas, artichoke mousse and ham on the bone, etc. We order, give our name and find a seat in the immaculate cafeteria space (white ceramic tiles, benches and grooved wooden tables so you can easily slide the trays around). Finish the meal with a slice of cake or compote. To drink, there’s Alain Milliat fruit juice. €2 supplement for glutenophobes. Bowls €8.90 to €13.50, set menu options €13.80 to €18.40. Breakfast €10. // D.C.
