Ma Kitchen

Every day during the lunchtime rush, crowds form outside of this tiny Korean spot with a normcore look (white walls, light hardwood floors, industrial lamps). Why? Because of the irresistible bibimbap which has earned the house its fine reputation! The day we went, Yoonsun Kim prepared a version on a bed of purple rice, topped with pickled vegetables, grilled chicken, sun-dried tomatoes and a romesco sauce. Other topping options: feta, turmeric and calamari pan-fried with feta, or tofu with pesto. All served with dexterity (extremely efficient staff) in a small cardboard box, which you can nibble in-house or take to go. For dessert? Apricot-pistachio tart or lemon-poppy seed cake. // M.S.

FEELING THIRSTY? There are ordinary sodas (€1.50) and yuzu, quince or plum infusions (€2.50).

PRICE: Bibimbap €10.80 (vegetarian €9), desserts €3 to €3.20.
