Along the Right Bank, the romantic Maison Maison (wooden furniture, bouquets of flowers, vintage tableware) will have barge dwellers and tourists on the passing Bateaux Mouches boats going pale with envy. It’s the perfect spot for outdoor dining and cheeky plates by chef Adriana Seghetta, who used to work at Aux Deux Amis. The other day at lunch, the set menu included excellent beef empanadas with chimichurri – or incredible whelks with mayo; comforting hand-cut steak tartare with an œufparfait and good homemade fries. Nights are for shared plates: burrata, zucchini and basil pesto; bluefin tuna mi-cuit, roasted eggplant, sauce andalouse; homemade vanilla ice cream with chocolate and hazelnut crumble… And if it’s raining? Head inside the lovely dining room tucked between two flights of stairs, within the quay walls just five meters above the Seine, seated on a red banquette or a bistro chair. // F.P.
FEELING THIRSTY? Craft beers (Deck & Donohue IPA at €5 for a half-pint) and natural wines: a Gard red from Alain Allier (€7 a glass), a Périgord white pet’ nat’ from Vincent Alexis, a Coteaux-d’Aix rosé from the Domaine de La Mongestine (€32 a bottle), etc.
