Marzo Rive Droite
Immaculate décor (white walls, a white tile credenza, light wood furniture), a gigantic wood-fired oven and a pizza-loving menu that costs a pretty penny… Pascal Balland (Cinq Mars) and Julien Cohen (Grazie, Professore, Ristorante National) have opened up a second Marzo on the Right Bank. The menu has the same litany of Italian fare as the original location in the Saint-Germain neighborhood: well-balanced antipasti, like grilled octopus over a bed of chickpea cream with olive purée (€15), or a sea bream ceviche with stracciatella and bottarga (€17); along with pizzas that get the job done right, like the Sorrentina combining buffalo mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and basil (€16), or the Splendida with fior di latte, Gorgonzola, Parma ham and arugula (€16); plus cheeky desserts – pizza with dulce de leche (€11) or lemon sorbet in Prosecco and vodka (€12). To drink, there’s Fever Tree lemonade (€6 for 200 ml), good organic craft beer from Volcelest (€8), an opulent natural Chianti from Majnoni Guicciardini (€8.50 a glass) or an Etna white from Alberto Graci (€53 a bottle). // G.LeP.
