Got a crazy urge for some Miznon treats? Then summon your patience and get in line with all the other people in front of Miznon Marais (exposed stone walls, a cinderblock kitchen, industrial suspension lamps). It’s already been six years since Eyal Shani – the star chef and owner of North Abraxas and Port Saïd in Tel Aviv (amongst others) – opened his first pita shop in Paris. And what a pleasure it is to sink your teeth into a pita sandwich filled with lamb kebab, tons of fresh herbs, tahini and red onions, for example! Also worth testing, seated either at the bar or in the small dining room at the back, is the magnificent spiced fish with tomato sauce and tahini, or the tasty ratatouille served with tahini and sliced hard-boiled egg. Not to mention the excellent sides, including the unmissable grilled whole cauliflower, or the intentionally charred whole sweet potato… It’s all as good as their incredible chocolate-tahini lava cake! // M.P. and S.S.
FEELING THIRSTY: There’s Israeli Goldstar (€5 for 330 ml) or Parisian Galia beer (€6.50).
PRICE: Pita sandwiches €7 to €12, sides €4-7,50, plates €10,50 to €16, desserts €4-5.
