Things are finally heating up in Dinard! The object of desire? The first restaurant from Alexandre Frin (in the kitchen) and Ludivine La Rosa (front-of-house), who have come back to live the bistro life on the Emerald Coast, after spending years working in fine dining establishments (notably Les Airelles in Courchevel and La Vague d’Or in Saint Tropez). Their setup? A dining room with beige walls, bistro tables, a covered terrace across from the town’s casino, and plates that celebrate local products and herbs harvested from their kitchen garden. For us, the day we went for lunch: and a plump œuf parfait sitting on creamed potatoes and topped with andouille from Dinan; delicate cuttlefish tagliatelle plunged into a flavorful broth with Asian notes, mussels, green beans and homemade gnocchi; before a striking sage panna cotta with rhubarb compote and an apricot sorbet, all sprinkled with streusel and pineapple. // S.L.
FEELING THIRSTY? A beautiful naturophile selection: L’Ephémère, a Pays-d’Oc white from the Domaine de Medeihlan (€4 a glass), a Loire Gamay from the Domaine Cogné (€5), Caprice, a Rhone Viognier from the Domaine Durand (€33 a bottle) or L’Envol, a Corbières from the Domaine la Rune (€36).
PRICE: Menu €21.50 (lunch), à la carte €38-53.
