This street-side shop belonging to Alain Cianni, the grandson of Adrienne Verducci (the historic queen of the local octopus pie know as a tielle), conceals the Sète locals’ favorite tielle. The port city’s proud star speciality is extra moist and keeps everyone’s cravings satisfied, made on a shortcrust pastry with fresh spicy tomato seafood filling. Enjoy one seated on the bench across from the shop, or take one home with you! Inside scoop: the mussel handpies, which are a little crispier around the edges, might be even better…

PRICE: Tielles €2.90 to €22 depending on the size, mussel handpies €2.80, anchovy pizza €2 a slice.
