Here at number 127 on Rue Sainte, Emma François had a stroke of genius! The founder of the clothing brand Sessùn set up Alma (“soul” in Spanish), the coolest concept store in all of Massilia: a 170 m2 space that brings together clothing from the brand, artisanal objects and books galore… and, in the middle of all that, a few tables where you can nibble on Aline Chemla’s (ex-Yima) sparkling creations. For us, the day we went for lunch, there was a tear-inducing red kuri squash hummus from the excellent Fabriquerie next door; delightful pita bread topped with shredded lamb, pickled onions, Greek yogurt and date chutney; delicious tuna carpaccio with shaved beets, fresh herbs (cilantro, mint, etc.) and a citrus brunoise; before roasted pear, streusel and a light whipped cream with chai spices for the lovely finale. // G.LeP.
