Todos contentos y yo también

Damien Teixidor has a new venture on Rue des Cardeurs! Alongside his partners, Oscar Mancillas de la Torre and Nathan Tailpied, the owner of Native opened up a taqueria (pink and green façade, tiled walls, midnight blue bar) to heat up Perpignan with loco tacos that change weekly. Our trio, the day we went for lunch: lascivious pulled pork with salsa verde (a tomatillo and green chili sauce); really good chorizo with grilled potatoes; and a cheeky zucchini, tomato and onion combo. Each one is made on a good homemade tortilla and paired with (optional) black beans. Then for dessert, there’s an incredible coffee, orange and cinnamon flan. It’s worth noting that the Sunday brunch will bring a little extra heat to your weekends: a sea bream ceviche tostada, a sweet potato and cheese taco, oysters with salsa verde… Something to make everyone happy, ourselves included! // G.V.
