In the suburbs of Arles, Damien Vieri (who used to run a recycling company) and Varenka Bello (a former translator) deal out their home-brewed beer with style: vats cooled down with rainwater, homegrown hops, first-rate malts… Available by the keg or by the bottle, you’ll find a selection of rare gems: a tangy cucumber sour, which is perfect for hot summer nights; a lightly hoppy bitter brewed with juniper from their garden; a pale ale fermented a second time with honey from Provence… And to go with all that? When the weather’s nice, Damien spins reggae and cumbia beats in the courtyard, while Varenka cooks up Mexican food in the kitchen trailer. // Noël Flantier
The hidden gem: Their singular Smoky Red Ale (€6 for 500 ml), which is smoky and meaty, perfect for your summer barbecues.
