Ten addresses to watch the world cup even without a ticket

You’ve tried negotiating and explaining that the Bleus need you by their side… A solid effort, but a failure nonetheless: you won’t be going to Russia. Like the rest of us, you’ll be in France watching Grizi, Kyky and the gang attempt to conquer the new golden stadium, twenty years – damn, 20 years! – after Zizou and his team first did. So here are ten chill spots where you can watch the games with your team of N°10s.

Bend it like Zidane (our photo)
For a month, the Belleville bar Combat will become the best place to enjoy tricky passes on TV, devastating shakes behind the bar and Neymar-esque creations, like this “wheat ale based cocktail” made in collaboration with the Outland brasserie (€8).

From Wednesday to Monday from 6pm to 2am (except Sunday and Monday, closes at midnight).

Broadcast of the Équipe de France matches (when the bar is open) and all matches once it reaches the quarter finals.

63, rue de Belleville, 75019 Paris. Telephone: + 33 9 80 84 78 60

Stadium heights
Like always, La Felicita saw the big picture and will broadcast a few matches simultaneously on three big screens. The French-Italy match isn’t on the agenda (scusi…) but craziness is guaranteed, along with some outstanding pizza (€8) and plenty of beer (€6 a pint). Dishes €15 max.

Every day, from 12:15pm to 2:30pm and from 6pm to 11pm (except Monday and Tuesday; nonstop from noon to 11pm Saturday and Sunday).

Broadcast: all group stage matches shown on TF1 and all matches once it reaches the quarter finals.

5, parvis Alan-Turing, 75013 Paris.

The secret spot
Behind the Puces market, the MOB Hôtel has a secret that’s as well guarded as a team lineup the night before the finals: its AIR MOB lounge where you can watch the games! With pizza in one hand (€15) and mocktails in the other (€10), with no fear of penalties….

Every day, from noon to 3pm and from 7pm to 11pm.

Broadcast: all matches.

4-6, rue Gambetta, 93400 Saint-Ouen. Telephone: + 33 1 47 00 70 70

Argentina, my love
In Paris’s Argentine headquarters, the baby blue and white jerseys will certainly make their presence felt at all the games played by Messi’s team. What to expect: tapas in 4-4-2 formation (€8-12), cocktails on the offensive (€10) and living wines for the gooooal (€8)!

From 6pm to midnight. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Broadcast: all matches when they’re open (exceptionally open for the Argentine matches).

116, rue Amelot, 75011 Paris. Telephone: +33 1 47 00 90 18

Street food style
You’ll really feel like you’re in the fan zone at this spot! Ground Control will adopt a supportive role the days when the Bleus play, with live radio commentary by the team from Passement de Jambes (P2J). For the menu, leave it to the toss up to decide! Dishes for €15 max.

From noon (11am Saturday and Sunday) to midnight (10pm Sunday). Closed Monday and Tuesday.

Broadcast: all matches.

81-87, rue du Charolais, 75012 Paris

Overtime included
For a month at the Hoxton, the matches will be broadcast in the courtyard of the Rivié on the big screen. On the restaurant’s bleu-blanc-rouge menu? International anthems eaten proudly (fish ’n’ chips and cheeseburgers for (€19), beers on tap (€7) and cocktails (€12-15).

Every day, from 7am to 11pm (until 2am from Thursday to Saturday).

Broadcast: all matches.

30-32, rue du Sentier, 75002 Paris. Telephone: +33 1 85 65 75 00

Tactical changes
At Captain Renauld’s place, it’s World Cup time every day starting at 5pm, or even earlier when the Équipe de France is concerned (and for the opening match). As for the national cuisine, you have plenty to choose from: tacos, smorrebrød, hot dogs, cheese… paired with delicious smoothies (€5-8). Dishes €15 max.

Every day from 5pm to midnight (from 4pm to midnight starting on June 25th).

Broadcast: all matches

4, boulevard Victor-Hugo, 64500 Saint-Jean-de-Luz

Deep in the fan zone
Lyonnais friends, this is the ideal spot to remember your gones who have flown off to Russia. Alongside friends and family, hang out on La Commune’s terrace or around its international stands (Japanese, American, vegetarian, Mexican, Moroccan). Dishes €15 max.

From Tuesday to Saturday, from 11:30am to 1am (from 10:30pm to 4pm Sunday). Closed Monday.

Broadcast: all group stage matches for the Équipe de France and all matches of the final final phase

3, rue du Pré-Gaudry, 69007 Lyon

All soccer, all the time
Like N’golo Kanté, the Café Ha(a)iza is something of the jack-of-all-trades of the Arcachon Bassin. A hotel, restaurant, café, bar, spa, pastry shop, hairdresser and… the official broadcaster of the World Cup games on three big screens. To eat and drink, dig into the Platinesque brasserie menu (set menus, €29-34).

Every day, from noon to 2:15pm, and from 7pm to 10:15pm.

Broadcast: all matches

1, avenue Louis-Gaume, 33115 Pyla sur Mer. Telephone: +33 5 56 22 06 06

4-4-2 formation under the arches
A new neighborhood spot in Saint-Roch, the Moody Social Club has everything necessary to put you in a good mood, starting with a giant big screen TV and a clever tapas menu at apéro-hour (€7 for six bites).

Every day, from noon to 12:15am. Closed Sunday.

Broadcast: all matches for the Équipe de France

2, rue de Vallat, 34000 Montpellier. Telephone: +33 4 67 60 77 23
