With Priceless Cities Best New Bistro, the first international bistronomic awards program operated by Le Fooding and Mastercard, discover five vibrant, spontaneous and accessible gems that defy categorization, where a new generation of chefs and restaurateurs are free to express their various talents.
Revealed on November 25th and celebrated in New York and Paris the same night, and on November 26th in London and Mexico, this first winners’ list does more than just elevate small restaurants d’auteur to the same level as the greats, and act as an excuse for new age feasts washed down biodynamically (thank you Maison Chapoutier!), since you have at least until the next edition to explore them!
So here is the list of prizewinners:
In London, the Priceless London Best New Bistro is seeing double! We couldn’t decide between Mao Chow, a tiny vegan-punk-rock spot that serves fiery and radically delicious Chinese cuisine, and the kitchen counter at Tayēr + Elementary, where an insane set menu couples up with thrilling cocktail pairings…. So they both won! Read more about them here.
In Mexico, the Priceless Mexico City Best New Bistro is… Expendio de Maíz Sin Nombre, a corn-obsessed joint that puts a playful new twist on the classics of Mexican cuisine, serving up the best tacos in the taco capital of the world! Read more about it here.
In New York, the Priceless New York Best New Bistro is… Saint Julivert, a neighborhood wine bar with wild and briny plates, that’ll make you want to move just so you can walk in and dine there multiple times a week. Read more about it here.
In Paris, the Priceless Paris Best New Bistro is… Le Maquis, an authentic corner bistro where you’ll find a modern take on classic French cuisine, and a look that any authentic bistro worth its salt should aspire to! Read more about it here.
See you next year, in even more cities!
