How could we have missed this spot? For over a year now, the Marseille-born duo of Clément Pascal and Kouros Bayat have been firing up their shiny Moretti pizza oven. In their small joint, located a stone’s throw from the Abbaye Saint-Victor, they send out mouthwatering pizzas seven days a week. Tested and approved straight from the box, with our eyes locked on the Vieux-Port: an irresistible Roquette with a tomato sauce base made even better after coming out of the oven with the addition of homemade arugula pesto, AOP buffalo mozzarella, Emiliano cured ham and 24-month Parmesan; a Moit’ Moit’ (Marseille’s favorite pizza) with anchovies on one side and plain cheese on the other; a Spianata piccante also featuring artisan scamorza; and a pizza of the moment (the summer day we went, it was yellow tomato sauce, garlic and parsley marinated anchovies, burratina from Puglia and fresh basil). Want more good news? They deliver beachside! // Maude Zarella
