Smack dab opposite Place de la Patrie, Valérie and Maxime Pliester’s shop sure keeps its customers cool. After testing their recipes in a foodtruck, the duo has now set up their ice cream-makers in this family-friendly spot, wooing in sweet-toothed customers and making them melt with their laid-back vibes. Take your pick of freshly churned ice creams (vanilla, stracciatella, coffee, pistachio, chocolate, blood orange and many others, available the day we went), while greedyguts can enjoy a scoop atop an artisanal Liège waffle, drizzled in chocolate sauce and topped with crunchy sprinkles! The bosses truly have everything covered, serving Gust coffee and a small selection of cakes from the Cantine de Géraldine as well. // Flora Eveno

THE HIDDEN GEM: The chocolate ice cream made from 73% Papau New Guinea dark chocolate, sourced from the neighboring chocolate maker Concept Chocolate – which Maxime also runs (€3 for one scoop, €5 for two).
