THE STORY: A closely guarded insider’s secret, this 19th-century villa is now a sexy, artsy lair thanks to the Fellinian minds of Laura Gonzalez and graffiti artist André. Overlooking the town of Saint-Tropez, the Hôtel Ermitage has some unexpected virtues hidden between its walls: a Thai restaurant called TIGrr Indochine, karaoke for wild evenings, and name-dropping bedrooms designed by Jean Pigozzi, Christian Louboutin, Chloé Sevigny and Olivier Zahm to name a few, which are filled with the very best design pieces from the 1950s – Mathieu Matégot, Jean Prouvé, EttoreSottsass, etc. Expect views of the sea and the citadel, along with an incredible terrace located just five minutes from the Place des Lices. Double rooms from €160 to €850 a night.

TOILETRIES: Kiehl’s soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner.
INTERNET: Free (wifi).
BREAKFAST: €18, with Mariage Frères tea, Illy coffee, viennoiseries, compote, yogurt, muesli, fruit juice…€25 with charcuterie and cheese in addition to the rest.
MINI-BAR: Alain Milliat fruit juice, Perrier…
LITTLE LUXURY: Karaoke every Thursday night and very frequent live concerts…
