In their local épicerie, Olivia Coutire and Hugo Tarsiguel, who used to work in the film and audiovisual industry, made their own gourmet movie with a focus on organic goods. Their shop, big enough to sell just the necessities, provides locals with regional fruit and vegetables (mirabelle plums, walnuts, Eckehard pears…), spices (saffron from Pistils et Dam’Nature), stinky farm-fresh raw milk Munster cheese from the Vosges, organic Strasbourg sauces from La Ferme du Vieux Poirier, or even sulfite-free bottles of wine. Since they’re not entirely Alsace-centric, they also proclaim their faith in Europe (and beyond): Kalios olive oils, Piedmont hazelnut spread, peppers from Thiercelin, Monograno Felicetti pasta, rum from Mauritius, maple syrup from Quebec… // A.N.
Hidden gem: Knack sausages from La Ferme du Vieux Poirier (€5.90 for 4).
