La Mélomane

Long live La Mélomane! As well as Christophe Wintgens and his sidekick Justine Donnay, who used to mix up cocktails from inside their nomadic caravan bar (Juice Box) before taking over this neighborhood bar located inside a historic building, whose name they also borrowed. There’s not too much choice seating-wise, but there is a dance floor for partying late into the night, shamelessly good vibes guaranteed. What about the drinks? Order over at the bar, choosing from a selection of beers (including Jupiler and Val-Dieu on tap, €2.30 and €4 a half-pint), organic wines, spirits (Demonio de los Andes pisco, €5 a glass), homemade soft drinks (organic juices from Pajottenlander, €3) and crazy good cocktails from Christophe, like the Arancia Rossa combining tangerine gin, pink peppercorn syrup, blood orange and bitters (€10). And if you fancy a snack, there are platters (Italian charcuterie and pickled veg, Friday to Sunday only), croque-monsieurs or even some mighty fine saucisson from Boucherie Havelange. // Bianca Bernard
