THE STORY: Alice and Jérôme Tourbier, who already run Les Sources de Caudalie in the Gironde department, doubled down in the Loire Valley with Les Sources de Cheverny. It’s a 45-hectare estate filled with pastures and forests, where you’ll find fifty-some accommodations, including thirteen in the 18th-century Château du Breuil, twenty in the big former farmhouse, and sixteen cabins. Entrusted to the architect Yves Collet and the Be-Poles studio, they all have hardwood floors, warm colors, vintage furniture and organic materials – wood, linen, cotton… And for a little self-care? Head to the luxurious Caudalie spa, the heated outdoor pool, one of the yoga classes in the forest, go on a bike or a horse ride, or visit the neighboring châteaux and vineyards…. Rooms starting at €180 a night, suites starting at €324.

TOILETRIES: Eco-responsible and local shampoo and body wash.

INTERNET: Wifi.

BREAKFAST: €25, served in the rooms with a well-stocked breakfast basket: coffee or tea, fresh fruit juice, viennoiseries, butter, jams, yogurt, seasonal fruit salad…

LITTLE LUXURY: Admiring the rising sun on the vineyards from the… hot air balloon! Which leaves directly from the château property (€190 per person).
