In this gastronomic no-go zone located a stone’s throw from Saint-Tropez, the Indie group (Indie Mountain, Indie Beach… that’s them!) revived the historic café in Ramatuelle with its faux Parisian brasserie feel, zinc-topped wooden bar, spotted mirrors, wine-bottle-green banquettes, globe light fixtures and tiled floor. On the plates, you’ll see well-executed bistro fare, with Côte d’Azur prices… The day we went for lunch, there was some extremely fresh meagre tartare with delicate notes of lemon and a sprinkling of fresh basil, or half a dozen asparagus drizzled in a punchy vinaigrette (with a steep €18 price tag!); a massive rib-eye steak with maître d’hôtel butter (cooked to tender perfection) served with homemade fries and slow-roasted shallots, or pan-fried sardine cassolette with fennel and a good tomato sauce; before a crème brûlée that’ll have you licking the bowl clean. // Gwen Jacquère

FEELING THIRSTY? : Eighty labels of wine available in all three colors, including a selection of natural wines (Equinox, a crisp local red from the Domaine Fondugues-Pradugues at €9 a glass, Grand Blanc 2016, a Provence wine from Henri Milan at €75 a bottle), along with classic Burgundy and Bordeaux vintages (Angélus 2009, a Saint-Émilion for €1,320!).
PRICE: : Dish of the day €19-23 (lunch), tapas €9-16, à la carte €44-66 (lunch) and €49-78 (dinner), kids’ menu €16.
