Oh Captain! My Captain! In his tiny spot located in the shadow of Antwerp’s cathedral, chef Jurgen Thanghe welcomes in customers with open arms, like the true sailor he used to be: as a child, he used to fish for cod, plaice and sole with his father, salting their catches of the day directly on the boat. Today, you’ll discover this same passion for seafood at his restaurant Fish A’ Gogo. What should you expect exactly? To love everything! Served at the outdoor bar or upstairs, seated around small wooden tables: oysters from Ostend; finger-lickin’ good homemade shrimp croquettes served with an equally personal tartar sauce for dipping; grilled razor clams in a briny garlic and parsley jus that’ll have you licking the plate clean; or toasted baguette topped with home-smoked eel and a bowl of mussels served in their juices… Pure carpe diem! // Kiko Zushi
