Somewhat concealed by the comings and goings of artists and students from the surrounding galleries and university, Normo Coffee infuses this small stretch of Kleine Goddaard with caffeine that’s been carefully sourced by Jens Oris. In this cool coffee shop, surrounded by writers typing away on their laptops at marble-topped tables, we come to unravel the mysteries of coffee over a cup of espresso or Ethiopian, Brazilian or Kenyan filter (€3) served by Stephanie Skoulos, the barista. The beans are meticulously roasted on site, all with the greatest respect for the producers, revealing the full beauty of their aromas. // Kiko Zushi
THE HIDDEN GEM: The Polychrome blend, which brings together beans from Brazil, Guatemala and Nicaragua (€7.50 for 250g).
