Sourdough bread or nothing, baby! The latter has the grace of being kneaded and baked on site at this brunch bakehouse on the edge of Harmonie Park, bustling with the comings and goings of those looking for a (quick) bite to eat at breakfast or lunch, depending on the time of day. From 8:30am sharp, ring in the morning with a few slices of toast slathered in butter, cheese or jam, or with a dippy egg on the side; or a fully loaded sourdough sandwich at lunch (like the Smøs Mortadella with organic mortadella from The Food Hub, tomatoes, cucumber, mayo and salad from the PLNT vertical farm) or a grilled cheese made by the book – today’s version featured taleggio and mushrooms; and in the afternoon for the last coffee of the day (roasted by Cordon Coffee in Antwerp), not forgetting a slice of carrot cake or a brownie. Enjoy the lot inside the immense hangar space or on the terrace with a view of the kids’ playpark, so you can keep an eye on the little ones while taking a well-deserved breather for yourself. // Juno Madre
