In the fall of 2022, three libation-loving friends, Thomas Dewaele, Kwinten Scheepers and Ties Bemelmans, opened up the Amber Bottle Shop in a narrow space with a typical Antwerp façade. On the shelves of their psychedelic wine shop, you’ll find bottles that they import directly (through their company Trubel), along with a few other proven naturalists – like Roeland Fort or Jan Borms of Altrovino. Feeling a little thirsty? Stuff some Swedish Djuce canned wine into your branded tote bag, or sip one of the six wines served by the glass in house (from €6 to €8.50). Really thirsty? The bottles can be popped open as well, in exchange for a €15 corkage fee in addition to the bottle price. // Jan JanBon

The bullet-proof bottle: Symbiose from David Koeberlé, a worthy fourth-generation representative of the Alsatian Muller Koeberlé winery (€21.50).
