Light wood details, whitewashed walls, a small terrace across the street from the theater, banquette seating and marble-topped tables so you can raise a glass to the Kingdom’s finest nectars… Because the shelves of this wine bar are filled with exclusively Belgian bottles chosen by Koen De Boeck! Including Ruffus, a dry and mineral natural wine from Le Vignoble des Agaises in Hainaut province; a taut and slightly saline Riesling from the Domaine Thilesna in Dilsen-Stokken on the banks of the Meuse River, with hints of apple and lime; Barrique from the Anobli winery located among the hills of the Flemish Ardennes, a pinot noir aged in oak barrels with notes of fresh summer berries… If you want to nibble on something with your wine, there’s a beautiful plate of Belgian cheeses from Van Schoonvliet in Beveren, a Flemish charcuterie platter from De Laet & Van Haver, or shrimp croquettes from Jean sur Mer. And for your annoying friend who only drinks beer, there’s something for him as well… // Kiko Zushi
The bullet-proof bottle: La Canicule, a dry chardonnay/müller-thurgau blend made using the traditional Hagenland method (€18.50).
