Two brothers and lots of good beans! Kévin and Dimitri Grodwohl, respectively a pastry chef and a coffee roaster/barista, delight their in-the-know customers at their pastry and coffee shop located near the Marché des Capucins. Parquet flooring, raw wood banquettes, Marcel Breuer inspired cane chairs, Mac DeMarco playing in the background… and Oven Heaven in the cups, aka their specialty coffee roasted in house in Bègles, and sold worldwide. What exactly will you be sipping on? Geisha, a Colombian coffee from Jairo Arcila for an outstanding cup of pour-over with notes of strawberry and cherry, or an espresso from Don Quielito in Panama, with almond and coconut flavors. Feeling overheated? Opt instead for a coffee cola or a sparkling lemonade made with cascara – the dried pulp of the coffee plant. And to go with all that, lemon meringue tart, viennoiseries, cookies, plus a selection of quiches and sandwiches, all homemade and sold to go as well, much like the coffee. // Kelly Slatée
THE HIDDEN GEM: The Morsure de Frank, an espresso blend made with beans from Mexico and El Salvador, with notes of chocolate and toasted hazelnut (€7.50 for 200 g).
